Beautiful tree with  with an almost black bark ,compact tree that makes it ideal for most gardens and grounds, also very good for street planting, wonderful specimen tree. Occurs from north cape to Banks peninsula. Glossy green with pinnate leaves, fresh growth has reddish tinge. Tree grows from 4-8 meters depending on area. Grows in most situations but prefers some protection. Young trees may need some protection from frosts.
